The bill sponsored by Rep. Matt Ramsey,
a Peachtree City Republican, passed the House by a largely partisan
vote of 113-56.
It's up to the federal government
to secure U.S. borders and deport illegal immigrants, but Georgia
can remove incentives that bring illegal immigrants to the state,
Ramsey said.
"No doubt about it, our federal
government has failed us, and our citizens in Georgia are suffering
the consequences," Ramsey said as he presented the bill in
the House chamber.
One provision would allow law officers
to verify the immigration status of criminal suspects and another
penalizes people who transport or harbor illegal immigrants, provisions...

As
Americans continue to feel the effects of President Obamas
anti-oil agenda at the pump, defensive liberals are circling back
to a familiar line of counter-attack: blame Bush. The media vacuum
on gas prices has made this line of attack all the more promising
with very little national coverage being given to the presidents
destructive domestic drilling agenda. Unfortunately it misses an
obvious point.
President George W. Bush was mostly
attacked for wanting to drill too much (or being cozy
with the oil industry), while President Obamas policies are
rooted in unilaterally shutting down the domestic oil industry amidst
rising prices and... continue

Is No War on Union Workers
It may come as
a surprise, but Tea Party'ers and 912'ers are not at war against
Union workers. Individually most of them in general are probably
hard working Americans that love this country. I would imagine
that if we sat down together we'd find a lot of common ground.
Historically, Unions have done a lot for this country, we certainly
don't want to go back to the days of sweatshops, and child labor.
If someone wants to give his hard earned pay to some Union boss
thats up to him. The problem we have is when unions are co-opted
by politicians or given special waivers which allow them to
be above the law, because the union happened to Continue

Obama's 2012 Budget
Disguised as Getting Tough
on Deficit Reduction
President Obama sent
Congress a $3.73 trillion budget that kills more jobs
by spending too much, taxing too much and borrowing too
much. It is just another sign that this president is not
a leader and has no sense of urgency in making a real
impact to the massive federal debt. In the times America
faces today, it takes real leadership and... continue

Feeling
guilty that you're not ready in event of a natural disaster?
Confused about what to do, or where to start?
NGA9-12 member Brewer55 lays out the basics of Food Storage
and answers the age old question...
Every once in a while I get fed up
more than usual and write a rant that doesn't fit on a protest sign
and can't be said in a sound bite. It helps me to vent and maybe
explain how I feel, and why I'm involved in the movement. And perhaps
a little of how others feel also.
People often misunderstand the 9-12/Tea Party movement, the media
pundits don't know how to explain it. Some think that folks at protests
are all racists or are only concerned about the one issue currently
on the table. They think the movement will run its course and and
fizzle out. Well after two years, despite their predictions ...

Administration Agency
Charged with Contempt of Court
Is the Obama administration pusing to get itself thrown behind
bars?
A federal
Judge in Louisiana has held the Interior Department on Wedsnesday
charging the agency of "dismissive conduct" for
continuing to block offshore drilling after the ban was lifted.
"in light of the national importance of this case, [these
actions] provide this Court with
clear and convincing evidence of the governments contempt
of this Courts preliminary injunction order.
Judge Martin Feldman Wrote in his 8 page order;
President Obama first ordered the halt of offshore
drilling in response to the BP oil spill in April 2010. While
some reasonable observers concluded that a temporary stoppage
was necessary to assess the status of safe drilling operations
in the Gulf, nearly nobody has supported the permanent moratorium
the Obama administration has since enforced.

A federal Judge ruled that not only the individual mandate,
but that the entire law is unconstitutional "because
the individual mandate is unconstitutional and not severable,
the entire Act must be declared void."wrote Judge Vinson in his 78 page ruling.
On Jan 19, the House of representatives
voted 245-189 to pass H.R.2 the "Repealing the Job-Killing
Health Care Law Act"! Three Democrats; Mike Ross (AR-4),
Dan Boren (OK-2) and Mike McIntyre (NC-7) crossed the asile
and voted with the Republicans. The bill is being called "symbolic"
as the Democrat majority in the senate is likely to ignore the
legislation. Next step for the House is
to defund Obamacare and to propose their own healthcare legislation. more

Mass Meetings Info
Georgia GOP Chairman
We've realized early on, that in order to change
the way that politics works that we have to effect change at a local
level. The easiest way for the movement to do this is at the party
level. As we become more involved with the party, we shape and mold
the decision making process; what candidates are chosen to run etc.
Obviously it makes sense to work within the party that more closely
shares the same values, as we do personally.
As one of our members so aptly put it; "they should change
the name to the GNP - Grand New Party" due to the influx of
new blood and ideas from the 9-12 and Tea party movement... Continue

At our January meeting we had the opportunity to
hear from Tricia Pridemore who is running for State GOP Chair. Tricia
has tirelessly worked as President of the Cobb 9-12, from the start
of the movement. She has been active in the State GOP and was integral
in the gubernatorial campaign of Nathan Deal.
Regardless of the outcome of this election in May, Tricia
has brought a fresh new vision to the Georgia Republican party.
She truly epitomizes the grassroots movement. For
more information on Tricia and her campaign you can go to triciaforchair.com
We are looking forward to hearing from the other candidates running
for this office; Shawn Hanley the Fulton GOP Chairman and Sue Everhart,
the current State Chairperson.
Senate
Spending Bill Dead
House
Votes to Prevent Tax Increases
Reid pulls the $1.1 Trillion spending bill after
losing support from 9 Repubs that were willing to vote for the massibe
porkulus bill. This is a major victory for conservatives and due
largely to the exposure that this massive spending bill received
making it toxic for anyone that supported it.
.
The house voted last night 277-148 to extend the tax rates. preventing
a tax increase. The compromise prevents tax rates from increasing
for all Americans, also included approx $2 billion in new spending.
and extends unemployment coverage another year.
Lame
Duck House Pushes $1.1 Trillion Pork Laden Spending Bill
Virgina
Judge Rules Obamacare Mandate Is Unconstitutional!!!
They're
at it again folks, While you're tightening your belt and wondering
how you're going to pay the bills and also give the kids a few Christmas
presents with a possible tax increase looming overhead, the 'Lame
Duck' Democrats in the Senate are attempting to ram a 1.1 Trillion
dollar ($1,100,000,000,000) spending bill down the throats of the
American people. The 1924 page bill which is reportedly laden with
thousands of earmarks, and pet projects is quickly catching fire
from conservatives.
"President Obama and Democrats have learned nothing from this
November's election" reads a statement from Jim DeMint, "This
nearly 2000 page omnibus filled with thousands of earmarks shows
they are still determined to ram through as much big government
spending as they can in this lame duck session. Americans loudly
demanded an end to the runaway spending, but Democrats are intent
on raiding every taxpayer dollar that they can grab from the treasury
on their way out of power."
"This bill is loaded up with pork projects and should not get
a vote." said John Thune, (R-SD) "Congress should listen
to the American people and stop this reckless spending.
Despite the strong opposition to this bill it still has a good chance
of passing due to four RINO's; Bob Bennett (R-UT), Kit Bond (R-MO),
George Voinovitch (R-OH), and Susan Collins (R-ME) each stated that
they are considering supporting the bill without even reading it,
or knowing what it contains.
U.S.
District Judge Henry Hudson in Richmond, Virginia, today said that
the requirement in President Barack Obamas health-care legislation
goes beyond Congresss powers to regulate interstate commerce.
While severing the coverage mandate, which is set to become effective
in 2014, Hudson didnt address other provisions such as expanding
Medicaid.
At its core, this dispute is not simply about
regulating the business of insurance -- or crafting a scheme of
universal health insurance coverage -- its about an individuals
right to choose to participate, wrote Hudson
But, wait! There's more...
Medical Loss Ratio regulations
It just keeps getting better the more we learn about
the Obama-Pelosi-Reid healthcare bill, or are they just
making it up as they go along?
According to HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, any insurance
provider that does not prove that they spend 80% of
premiums (85% for large company plans) directly toward
medical services will be penalizied and have to reimburse
the insured.
"When these medical loss ratio regulations go
into effect next year, insurers must show that they
are spending at least 80% of your premium dollars on
direct medical services and quality improvement."
"If an insurer spends too much of your premiums
on administrative costs and doesnt meet the 80
or 85 percent standard in a given year, they will be
required to send their plan members a rebate based on
their excess spending on overhead."

The premier historian of the Bill of Rights, professor
Leonard Levy, explained why our Constitution was not fully operative
until the first 10 amendments became part of it: "We have a
Bill of Rights because the state, even the democratic state, cannot
be trusted. A Bill of Rights is a bill of restraint against the
state."
A consensus of polls
and the daily news reveal a deep distrust of Congress and
of this president, as was also true of his predecessor. Accordingly,
the state of health of the First Amendment, from which all our individual
liberties against the state flow freedom of speech, press,
religion, assembly and persistent petition of government for redress
of grievances is vital to all of us. Our voices need to be
heard.
Every year, I watch for the State of the First
Amendment national survey by the First Amendment Center at Vanderbilt... Continue

Iraq: The War That Broke Us
-- Not
In
a recent American Thinker article writer Randall Hoven exposes
the lies of those on the left that have been using the war
in Iraq as an excuse for
our failing economy.
"The correct answer to my question, according to the
Congressional Budget Office, is $709 billion. The Iraq War
cost $709 billion. Why Carville, Bilmes, and Nobel-winning
economist Stiglitz thought the answer was $3 trillion is anybody's
guess. But what's a 323% error among friends?"
We're
very excited about the 8-28 rally!! North Georgia
9-12 has 3 buses carrying 160 patriots to the event
in DC! (Unfortunately all
seats are sold out - Please reserve your seats early
for the September 12th event if you are interested
in going).
The
state of Georgia has a huge contingient. We are
aware of at least 700 Georgia patriots going by
bus alone. It is unkown how many are traveling to
the event from our state by other means, but this
promises to be a huge event.
We have some folks in DC doing recon, as we speak,
at the Lincoln Memorial. Last report was that there
are view screens set up on the Mall all the way
to the Washington Monument. There is a stage set
up at the foot of the Lincoln Memorial and another
stage on the side for dignitaries. Stay tuned to
the website and boards for updates on the event.
We will get pictures and video from the event up
as soon as possible.
Please stay tuned

Mosque
Moves Forward, Yet Church in Limbo
by
Mark Impomeni
The battle raging over the Ground Zero mosque is bringing
new attention to another, less publicized controversy
involving a house of worship in Lower Manhattan.
St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, which once sat
right across the street from the World Trade Center,
was crushed under the weight of the collapse of Tower
Two on September 11, 2001. St. Nicholas was the only
church to be lost in the attacks, and nine years later,
while City of New York officials are busy removing every
impediment to the building of the Cordoba mosque two
blocks from the site, St. Nicholas future remains
unclear.
