Contact
your State Representative this weekend and tell them to vote "YES"
on Monday and pass this important legislation!
Friday, HR1086, the FREEDOM OF CHOICE IN HEALTH CARE ACT, unanimously
passed the Rules Committee of the Georgia House of Representatives.
It will now be voted on by the full House Monday.
This
Act simply states that no law shall compel any Georgia citizen to
participate in any health care system - nor can they be punished
if they do not. ALL versions of health care in Washington state
this. Imagine the Congress of the United States telling you, an
individual citizen you MUST purchase something with their own money
or be punished by the IRS.
This would
totally by-pass every Department, Agency Commission or Committee
of the State of Georgia. It would set in motion the ability for
Congress to pass laws that would totally override any laws we have
in the State of Georgia. There would then be no need for a Governor,
Senate, House, nor any other departments or agencies as they would
all be overridden by federal code.
I urge you to tell everybody you know throughout the state to call,
e-mail or fax their State Representative this weekend and ask them
to vote for HR1086 Monday. The future of Georgia as an independent
state rests on it.
Fortunately
the Act would stop that motion in it's tracks and things would go
back to the way they are supposed to be and the 10Th amendment of
our Constitution states that it should be. Remember, the 10th Amendment
is very short, strong and straightforward. It states, in it's entirety,
"Powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution,
nor prohibited by it to the States, respectively, or to the people."
There is no legal doubt whatsoever that we, the State of Georgia,
cannot pass and enforce this Act. Failure to do so could potentially
put us in a position of having to do everything the feds want without
regard to the will of the citizens or General Assembly of the State
of Georgia.
So far, 38
states have filed - or are in the process of filing similar legislation.
In fact, several of the have now passed them into law or are awaiting
final passage as you can see from the next few paragraphs.
Last Wednesday,
Virginia became the first state to enact the Freedom of Choice in
Health Care Act. HB 10, that has passed both houses with overwhelming
bipartisan support and now awaits Governor McDonnell's signature.
Thursday,
Idaho became the second state to enact the Freedom of Choice in
Health Care Act. Governor Otter will held a signing ceremony for
HB 391, a statutory measure that would protect Idaho from a federal
requirement to purchase health insurance.
Arizona's
House Concurrent Resolution 2014 passed both chambers and will be
on the November 2010 ballot.
Missouri's
HJR 48 passed the House with a 113-40 vote (with 29 Democrats supporting
the measure), and was transmitted to the Senate. There it joins
Senate Joint Resolution 25, a Senate-originated constitutional amendment.
Both HJR 48 and SJR 25 are state constitutional amendments that
would block any state or federal attempt to enact an individual/employer
mandate, or any state or federal attempt to prohibit direct payment
for medical care.
Oklahoma
House Joint Resolution 1054, a state constitutional amendment, passed
the House Thursday 77-10 (with 20 Democrats supporting the measure)
and moves onto the Senate.
Tennessee
Senate Bill 3498, a statutory measure, passed the Senate last month
26-1 (with seven Democrats supporting the measure) and is now in
the House.
As you can
see, this is a nationwide, non-partisan movement to block the federal
government from by passing the 10th amendment rights of the states.
We are now
well on our way in leading the other states as we look forward to
passing this Act in the House ON MONDAY!
